ABOUT STEPHEN KLINER
My passion is telling the incredible story of this wonderful complex country.
I made Aliyah to Netanya in December 2012 and decided to embark on a two-year journey to become an English speaking Tour Guide through the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1953, I graduated LLB in Law and MA in Economics and Sociology at the University of Glasgow and practised as a solicitor in private practice for over thirty years.
I am a past President of the Glasgow Jewish Representative Council. I worked for many years in various capacities for a number of charitable organisations both locally in Glasgow and nationally. I co-authored a pictorial history ‘Jewish Glasgow’ which was published in Israel and launched in Glasgow and the Bet Hatefutsot, Tel Aviv in October 2013.

"We recently had the opportunity to go on a tour to the northern part of Israel with Stephen. Among other things we visited the graves of Yehoshua Hankin and his wife Olga. Stephen's knowledge of the pair was encyclopaedic. Not only was he learned in the history of the country, but he expressed great understanding of the different types of terrain, vegetation, flowers, and the country's various populations from Bedouin, Arabs, Yemenite Jews and others. We travelled from Hankin's graves to the Spring of Gideon. Gideon drank from this spring (as did we) and prepared his war against the tribe of Midianites. Stephen read directly from the words of the Bible about the preparations and the battle. We listened absorbed entirely in the history as we felt we were viewing the decisive battle in "real time." If that is not an example of "living with history" .......it doesn't get better than that!!!! Stephen's preparation and delivery show a man who loves this country and has a wonderful infectious personality. We have travelled all over the world from Mongolia to the tip of South America and never experienced a better time and more informative guided tour.
